Hope in the Heat Initiative is a refugee-founded and women-led organization advancing climate resilience, inclusive development, and community-led solutions in Uganda. Why Our Work Matters

Refugee-hosting districts in Uganda continue to face drought, erratic rainfall, declining soil fertility, deforestation, and growing livelihood insecurity. These challenges affect refugee and host communities deeply, especially women and girls who often carry the burden of collecting firewood and water, exposing them to safety and protection risks.

HIH responds by linking climate action with livelihoods, protection, education, advocacy, and local leadership.
